The Community Health Needs Assessment provides an overview of the methods and processes used to identify and prioritize significant health needs in Washoe County . The goal of this report is to offer a meaningful understanding of the most pressing health needs across Renown Health ’ s Primary Service Area , as well as to guide planning efforts to address those needs . Special attention has been given to the needs of vulnerable populations , unmet health needs or gaps in services with input from the community .
The recently completed CHNA wrapped up in 2020 after focusing for three years on issues around mental health , substance abuse , physical activity and nutrition .

In June 2020 , the CHNA team enthusiastically kicked off the triennial assessment research by conducting surveys with the community , interviewing key leaders and aggregating health data . Seven months later , the committee had identified the four community health needs for the 2021 to 2023 cycle .
