Meeting Patients ’ Needs as the Disease Advances
Parkinson ’ s brings a range of symptoms , but each person ’ s experience with these challenges is unique . The array and severity of issues is different for everyone , and even can be different from day to day in the same individual . Especially as the disease advances into later stages , many symptoms remain frustratingly under addressed by current treatment paradigms , robbing patients and families of quality of life . The Foundation provides significant support to scientists worldwide to pursue a broad range of strategies to treat , predict and better understand these symptoms and to better meet the needs of those whose Parkinson ’ s has progressed over the course of decades .
