Hamburg hawks

By Kip Kovar Sports Editor The Hamburg Hawks are the amateur baseball team that competes in the Crow River Valley League . The Hawks play at Hawk Field , which has been one of the favorite parks in the area by many fans .
In 2021 , the Hamburg Hawks help hosted the Minnesota Baseball Association State Tournament . It ’ s the second time in the past five years Hawks Field was home of the state tournament . Hamburg was one of three hosts for the 2017 Class C State Tournament . In 2021 , Hawks Field helped the Waconia Lakers and Chaska Cubs host the state tournament break the attendance record .
Hamburg also helped host the 2021 Region 7C Tournament with the Plato Bluejays . With Bluejays Stadium not having lights , Hawks Field hosted the night games .
2021 was a season of which things were back to normal . Due to COVID-19 , the 2020 season began late and was shortened . The Hawks finished the CRVL regular season with a record of 6-13 . That earned them the No . 11 seed in the CRVL playoffs . Hamburg ’ s season continued as they swept the Mayer Blazers in two thrilling games . The Hawks then went 0-2 at the Region 7C Tournament .
Justin Perlich was named the team ’ s MVP while Will Hoernemann was voted Hamburg ’ s Pitcher of The Year .
