BEFORE
The most important task when designing the remodel of this Bluegrass Trust home was to keep true to the character and existing features .
The 1980s style kitchen and main bath were soon transformed into elegant spaces that will withstand the test of time . The kitchen now boasts new cabinets , custom millwork , dolomite countertops and backsplash , island seating , and a layout that better serves modern-day living . The adjoining sunroom was remodeled with new trim and hardwood flooring to create a continuous flow , while the widened opening between the two spaces lets more natural light into the kitchen . The powder bath was also fully remodeled with new tile flooring and a floating granite vanity .
On the second floor , the main bathroom entry was relocated from the hallway to inside the bedroom to create a true main suite . The bathroom remodel features all new cabinetry , dolomite countertops , tile flooring , and large tiled walk-in-shower . Two closets with custom shelving were also added in the main suite . The hall bathroom was also fully renovated with new cabinets , quartz countertops , tile floor and shower walls . Converting the the existing freestanding tub into the new shower adds a nod to the past .
