Giving Back Throughout the Year
Our employees across the company give back to their communities in a variety of ways . Just a few examples are highlighted below :
Waterway Spring Cleaning
In May 2021 , colleagues from our West Seneca , NY office volunteered at the annual Buffalo Niagara Waterkeeper spring sweep . The team helped to clean trash and debris along the Scajaquada Creek near Buffalo State College in Buffalo , NY . This annual event is part of the broader Great Lakes Spring Cleanup .
Shoreline Cleanup
Colleagues from our Arlington , TX office have “ adopted ” a section of shoreline along White Rock Lake . The Shoreline Cleanup event was started by the Texas Society of Professional engineers . Every month since June 2021 , the team has participated in the event by removing trash and cleaning their adopted shoreline section . These dedicated TRCers report that the best feeling is when they are thanked by runners and other park visitors for their community service .
Great Raleigh Cleanup
TRC employees volunteered for the Great Raleigh Cleanup and collected 260 pounds of trash which they sorted by type including plastics and metals . The team – inspired by their efforts and results – is looking forward to participating in future volunteering opportunities in their community .
SOLVE Oregon
On June 11 the TRC Oregon team met to clean up the area around the downtown Portland office ! The office partnered with SOLVE Oregon to organize the event , collecting more than 15 bags of trash and countless cigarette butts . Just one cigarette butt contaminates five gallons of water so getting those out of the waterways is particularly impactful .
