Orent also represents women suffering from side effects of pelvic mesh / sling products , and represents communities and people facing personal injury , property damage and economic loss as a result of environmental contamination . He was recently accepted as a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation , serves on the board of governors for the Rhode Island Association for Justice , is a former member of the Rhode Island Advisory Committee to the U . Greene litigates for victims of toxic exposure and defective medical products . Most recently he , with others from the firm , served as outside counsel for the State of Rhode Island and helped negotiate a $ 107 million settlement to resolve litigation against opioid manufacturers Teva and Allergan , in addition to settlements with J & J and the nation ’ s three largest opioid distributors . Additionally , Greene represents workers and families suffering from mesothelioma and other asbestos-related diseases .
Greene ’ s legal efforts for those harmed by lead poisoning led to his critical role in defeating tort reform legislation in Rhode Island , utilizing testimony , analysis and grassroots outreach to push passage of a bill that helped prevent childhood lead poisoning without infringing on victims ’ rights .
Active in Rhode Island ’ s legal community , Greene served in 2015 as president of the Rhode Island Association for Justice and is the current treasurer for the Rhode Island Center for Justice .
