BAYLOR SCOTT & WHITE HEART AND VASCULAR SERVICES - WAXAHACHIE
The clinical leadership team from the nationally recognized Walter I . Berman Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation Center in Dallas worked closely with the local Waxahachie outpatient cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation team as part of the expansion of cardiovascular care . With evidence-based protocols and individualized treatment plans for heart patients , the team expanded as the need grew . Volumes increased throughout the remaining months of fiscal year 2022 with many patients choosing to complete cardiac rehabilitation as referred by their provider post-procedure at this close-to-home center . There was a total of 4,365 combined treatment sessions for both cardiac and pulmonary patients , with 3,922 of the total being cardiac rehabilitation treatment sessions .

OPENING MID-YEAR 2023
As cath lab volumes increased , a groundbreaking celebration occurred for the construction of a dedicated heart and vascular hospital and medical office building adjacent to the current hospital . A topping out reception occurred in April and the estimated opening for the new heart and vascular hospital is anticipated to be late Spring 2023 .
Services will be consolidated into a licensed hospital located in the new medical plaza office building . New catheterization lab rooms and an outpatient nursing unit will be part of the expansion project which will add 80,000 square feet of space to the campus including the physician offices within the building .
