World-renowned vascular surgeons on the medical staff of Baylor Scott & White Heart and Vascular Hospital – Dallas perform complex and minimally invasive procedures to treat patients for circulationrelated occlusive cerebrovascular disease , thoracic and abdominal aorta diseases or disorders , or lower extremity circulatory disorders . The surgeons are also known for their ability to provide surgical access for complex dialysis access patients .
The vascular surgeons on the medical staff have special expertise and years of experience in several key procedures and have often led the nation in the number of procedures performed for diverse thoracic and abdominal aorta procedures and cerebrovascular circulation-related occlusive disease , utilizing open and endovascular methods and minimally invasive treatments for venous diseases .
Capabilities include a wide array of endovascular procedure options for patients with deep vein thrombosis ( DVT ) and patients with aneurysms and vascular malformations . Additional procedures :

FY22 ACHIEVEMENTS
Several “ firsts ” in Texas or North Texas were celebrated in fiscal year 2022 , as well as national achievements by the vascular surgery team .
• First in Texas to perform IVC filter retrieval via CavaClear IVC Filter Removal Laser Sheath
• First North Texas case for the Inside-Out ® procedure developed for patients who have experienced blockage and unable to continue with dialysis . This was achieved with the latest technology of the Surfacer ® System , the first and only FDA cleared device at this time allowing surgeons to obtain central venous access in patients with blocked veins .
• First in North Texas to use Thoraflex Hybrid procedure for Frozen Elephant Trunk ( FET ) repair
• First vascular surgeon in North Texas to use subclavian artery laser fenestration for treatment of thoracic aortic aneurysm
• Accepted as one of 58 centers around the world to be included in the International Registry of Acute Aortic Dissection ( IRAD )
• Achieved more than 400 TCAR procedures since program inception in 2017 making the Dallas site one of the top volume sites in the US
