CULTURE ENCOURAGES CONTINUOUS LEARNING
Fostering a culture of continuous learning is important to the leaders of Baylor Scott & White Heart and Vascular Hospital . Employees have opportunities to grow in professional development by advancing their technical degrees and certifications or achieving a doctorate in a variety of related programs . Several leaders have participated annually in the Baylor Scott & White Health and Southern Methodist University Cox School of Business Executive Leadership Training Program .
PARTNERS IN CARE
The culture at Baylor Scott & White Heart and Vascular Hospital is one that encourages all employees to value every role and every position . Not a single recognition day for one discipline is celebrated . Annually , the entire team celebrates Partners in Care Week , which signifies that we are “ all in it together .”
This includes the hospital Caring Hearts ® volunteers who provide emotional support and timely communication to patients . The volunteers have experienced heart issues or are a family member of a cardiac patient and are valuable to those who may be experiencing heart events for the first time . These volunteers provide family members with updates during their loved one ’ s procedure and recovery process . Additionally , Caring Hearts volunteers often visit patients and their family members pre-procedure to answer questions and help reduce anxiety that may be present .
Emotional and spiritual support are important for both patients , as well as the hospital team . The hospital maintains a dedicated full-time chaplain for cardiovascular patients , as well as assisting team members during stressful situations .
