OUTDOOR RECREATION
League City has more than 25 miles of hike and bike trails , a paddle trail that runs 6.5 miles down Clear Creek , the third largest boating anchorage in the United States and three golf courses . There also are ample opportunities for fishing in the local creeks , lakes , ponds and bayous as well as nearby saltwater fishing in Galveston Bay and the Gulf of Mexico .
A WILDERNESS IN THE CITY
The largest urban wilderness preserve in the United States is located just outside of League City : Armand Bayou Nature Center . This 2,500-acre preserve is home to numerous wildlife animals , including alligators , deer , birds , bats , armadillos and even two bison ! Visitors can explore Armand Bayou Nature Center by walking the numerous nature trails , going on night hikes , guided kayak tours and pontoon cruises .
