Findings
This report describes the state of Departments ’ compliance with the San Francisco Language Access Ordinance ( LAO ). The reporting period covers Fiscal Year 2020-2021 ( July 1 , 2020 to June 30 , 2021 ).
In the past year , there has been an increase in Limited English Proficient ( LEP ) client interactions with Departments across the board , most notably from Spanish and Filipino LEP communities . In addition , the number of translated materials has increased .
There was a decrease in spending for language services compared to the previous year when Departments significantly increased their spending for language services .
