found on the course or by the pool , I am often kayaking on the Maury or at home engrossed in a good book .
At the close of the 2020-21 school year , I retired from teaching middle and high school English and History from Rockbridge County Public Schools . My educational background includes a B . A . in Education from Bridgewater College along with a Master of Education & Reading Specialist degree from JMU . While at Maury River Middle School , I was the co-founder of the National Junior Honor Society . Currently , I serve as the treasurer of the Ladies Golf Association , and am an active member of Lexington Presbyterian Church . I have been a member of the handbell choir , served as an Elder , Sunday School teacher , and leader for Vacation Bible School .
Lexington Golf and Country Club has a very special place in my heart . I have witnessed and appreciated the club ’ s unwavering commitment to the RCHS Golf and Tennis teams ; our course and courts serve as the “ Home ” for these two teams . Now that I have retired from teaching , LGCC is definitely my home away from home . Without a doubt , I am very thankful to be a member of LGCC .
Sean Harrington
Sean Harrington is a Senior Human Resources Business Partner for the University of Virginia . He serves as a strategic HR advisor and consultant to senior leadership across the University where he provides innovative HR solutions to meet various business goals and objectives . Prior to his role at UVA , Mr . Harrington served as Secretary to the VMI Board of Visitors and Executive Officer to the Superintendent . He was the senior administrative official responsible for consultation and guidance on strategic planning , policy implementation initiatives , risk mitigation strategies , human resource policies , and institutional succession planning .
Mr . Harrington retired from the U . S . Air Force as a Lieutenant Colonel having served in a multitude of assignments and deployments at various levels of command . During his tenure as the 96th Force Support Squadron Commander , he was responsible for a support organization of 950 employees , $ 55M in assets , and 133 facilities with a $ 9.1M budget . His organization provided all recreational services and morale and welfare programs supporting 1.2M customers per year with an average of $ 17M in sales annually . This included management oversight over the 36-hole golf course facility which was rated “ Best in the
