SLOW COOKER BARBEQUE CHICKEN OR PORK
This slow cooker recipe for barbecue meat is delicious , heart-healthy , and versatile . Serve it on whole-wheat buns for sandwiches or with a side of no-salt-added pinto beans or Asian coleslaw .

Barbecue Sauce Ingredients
• 14.5-ounce can no-salt-added tomato sauce
• 1 tablespoon brown sugar ( optional ), or flavor with a no-calorie sweetener
• 1 / 4 cup cider vinegar
• 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
• 1 / 2 teaspoon garlic powder
• 1 / 2 teaspoon onion powder
• 1 / 2 teaspoon chili powder
• 1 / 4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
• 1 teaspoon black pepper
• 1 / 4 teaspoon cinnamon
• 1 / 2 teaspoon paprika
Chicken or Pork Ingredients
• 1 pound boneless , skinless chicken breast or tenderloins OR pork loin , tenderloin , or center loin , all visible fat discarded
• 1 cup water
Directions Whisk together the barbecue sauce ingredients in a medium bowl .
Place chicken or pork in slow cooker , and pour water and barbeque sauce over meat .
Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 3-4 hours . Chicken may break apart easily with fork once cooked .
