The Osceola Seminoles ended last season with a 6-5 record . For the Seminoles that is down season and they will look to finish back at the top of the conference . Coach Jamie Carter returns four key players that he expects to have a good season . They include : Skyler Young , TJ Bell Jr ., Keenan Brow , and Dreylun Haymon . Osceola will run out of the spread on offense . Bell has played safety but will see the majority of his time as the team ’ s top QB . He has speed but will throw the ball . Young works out of the running back position while also serving time at linebacker . On paper Young looks somewhat undersized but he ’ s far from it . He ’ s capable of being a solid back in multiple situations for Coach Carter . Haymon will look to be a top player at receiver . He ’ s a smaller wideout but has breakaway speed . Osceola will be based out of a 3-4 . “ We have to be multiple based on the teams we play week in and week out ,” said Carter . The secondary is the strength of the team for the Seminoles as it is loaded with seniors . Coach Carter enters his third year as the head coach and is excited about having this group together since the start of his tenure as he has watched them grow and develop . Osceola will challenge for a conference championship . NEA Sports predicts the Seminoles to finish in the top half of the conference while making the playoffs .
The EPC Warriors had a very odd season in 2021 . They started the year 0-6 but finished 5-1 down the stretch . Obviously , Coach
Brandon Powell will look to have a much stronger start to 2022 . The Warriors lose two key pieces in LB / FB Candon Argo along with offensive tackle John Keith Walling who is now playing at Lyon College . East Poinsett County does have some nice parts coming back . One of the area ’ s top running backs returns in RB / LB Dennis Gaines . Gaines rushed for 1254 yds on 180 carries to go along with 18 touchdowns . Quarterback Carter Smith is back as he threw for 1100 yards and nine touchdowns . Smith also managed 600 yds rushing and six touchdowns . Other key returners include : Jamarkious Garrett , Ethan Tucker , and Emery Constant . “ Offensively we run a spread no huddle style ,” told Powell . “ Our run game should be a strength returning our running back , quarterback , four starting offensive linemen and our tight end . An area of concern will be our depth . As long as we are healthy we should be pretty efficient on offense . We return a majority of our offensive production from a team that made the quarterfinals .” Coach Powell does like to change things up from week to week depending on the opponent . “ Much like the offensive side of the ball , we return a lot of starters on this side of the ball . I believe our

strength will be upfront with three seniors starting on the d-line ( Garrett , Tucker , Constant ). Every player that started in the secondary in the playoffs last season will be back . Corners Cooper Argo , Kavan Jennings , safeties Omar McCuiston , and Tyrus Reel . Our most unproven area of concern will be the production we get from linebacker . If we can get solid play at that position , we can be a very good defensive team . We will look for Gaines , Tyler Moore , Michael Collins as possibilities to feel those three linebacker slots .” Carter Smith will handle punting duties , while Constant and Hayden Holiman will handle kickoff duties . “ Looking at our schedule , we feel confident that we can compete and win all ten games .” NEA Sports believes that EPC will make the playoffs finishing with a winning record and making a run late in the season .
