The Buffalo Island Central Mustangs will look to win their district in class 2A in golf this season . After finishing runner-up , a season ago , BIC returns their four horsemen in : Hank Hurst , Brayden Mullis , Taylor Shrable , and Andrew Hill . “ Brayden and Andrew will fight for our number one spot while Andrew and Taylor add consistency to our team ,” said BIC coach Tyler Herring . The team tied the Bay Yellowjackets overall as a team at district over at the Big Lake Country Club at Manila but lost in a playoff hole . They will look to enact revenge while also finding a way to make a deeper run at state . There are some new teams entering the conference this season that include the Cedar Ridge Timberwolves . They will be tough to beat . In girls , the BIC Lady Mustangs will look to once again end the year as district champs . “ We ’ ll return all of our girls . Our returning girls are : Kendra Towell , Macie Hatch , Ashtyn Hawkins , Hallee Wells , Cason Rose and Sydney Bryeans . We have new players on the girls side this year . They are Lydia Sutfin , Sophi McFall , Leah Navarro , and Hadlie Goodson . We anticipate Lydia and Hadlie to put pressure on our returners .” With the returning core to go along with Goodson , expect BIC to be even better . “ This year we expect our girls to win district and to have the best finish at state our girls have had in a long time . Our boys will also be highly competitive in district and look for a top eight finish at state . The greatest strength of our team is the decisions they make on the course . I continue to be impressed with their consistency of play .”
