The Bay Yellowjackets are the 2021 reigning district champions . They return all of their key pieces to the fold . Bay won in a tie breaker playoff hole both individually and as a team . Easton “ Duck ” Fletcher defeated Brooks Vangilder in a playoff hole after being five shots down with only seven holes left to play . Fletcher forced a tie and won the playoff hole to clinch the individual district title . The Buffalo Island Central Mustangs tied Bay as a team which then forced another playoff hole to determine the district championship . Fletcher took the Mustangs to the woodshed on their home course and helped capture another district tournament for the Jackets . Fletcher returns as the team ’ s top performer . He will look to repeat as an individual champ while helping to lead his team in a repeat performance as well . Fletcher finished all-state and will look to make a run at Turkey Mountain in October . Fletcher ’ s key to success will be getting off the tee box consistently while relying on his short game as a strength . Sophomore Kaden Hartley returns and will look to be improved from his freshman campaign . Hartley will look to become more consistent off the tee box . He ’ s got the potential to shoot in the upper 80 ’ s when he ’ s playing well . Will Pillow can also shoot in the upper 80 ’ s to low 90 ’ s when playing at his best . Pillow has a good wedge game but struggles with his fairway wedges . Reed Crocker and Will Cossey battle it out as the number four player on the team . Crocker had minimal playing time last season . He ’ s solid with his wedge game but also struggles off the tee box . Cossey is new to the team and will look to get experience in the regular season . Cedar Ridge moves into district play this season . They will actually be the team to beat even though Bay has the district trophy . Look for Bay to once again have a chance to win their district and finish near the top in class 2A .
