JUNIOR OPEN DAIRY

AMOUNT OFFERED : $ 8,183.00 WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY , JULY 27 & 28 , 2022 ( See Rule # 12 ) - 9:00 AM

ENTRY FEE : $ 5.00 / entry STALL FEE : $ 5.00 / head ( if not paid in Open show )

IL STATE RULE 260.95 Junior classes are open to boys and girls who are eight ( 8 ) years of age and not yet 21 years of age on or before September 1 of the year previous to the Fair . All animals shown in junior classes must be the property of the boys and girls showing them . If the same animals are shown in both the open classes and junior classes , they shall be shown under the same exhibitor ’ s name .

1 . Release time is Saturday , July 30 after 6:30 pm . NO EXCEPTIONS ! 2 . Entries close July 15 . 3 . A stall fee will be required for all Jr . Open stalls , unless exhibiting in the Open Show . No bedding is furnished . 4 . All dairy must be in place by 11 pm on Tuesday , July 26 . 5 . Milk Cows ( no dry cows or heifers ) will be released one hour following the Holstein and Brown Swiss show on Thursday , July 28 .

Premium checks may not be available at that time . 6 . Each exhibitor will be limited to two ( 2 ) premiums per class . 7 . Exhibitors must have owned animals by 06 / 01 / 22 . 8 . Health rules apply as printed for Open Show and must be followed . 9 . All animals must have ID papers like the Open Show and have them on the fairgrounds at all times . 10 . Junior exhibitors must assume some responsibility for their Junior owned animals . 11 . All Junior owned animals must be exhibited by a Junior member to be eligible for Junior Awards . 12 . Order of judging will follow this listing : 07 / 27 - Junior Open & Open : Jersey & Ayrshire / Guernsey 07 / 28 - Junior Open & Open : Brown Swiss / Milking Short Horn & Holstein

13 . Championship drive will follow the classes for each breed . The Open Show Champion will show first followed by the Junior Open Show Champion . Juniors will lead out regardless of Open Champion .

14 . The point system for each Breed Premier breeder and exhibitor will be calculated on six ( 6 ) animals . Five ( 5 ) places in each class will be used with 10 points for the top cow and 5 points for the top heifer .
