1 . Release time is Saturday , July 30 after 6:30 pm . NO EXCEPTIONS ! 2 . Entries close July 15 . 3 . NO POWER WASHERS OF ANY KIND OR BARRELS THAT WILL DEPLETE WATER PRESURE WILL BE ALLOWED AT
THE WASH RACK .
4 . The Fair Association reserves the right to assign stalls and to close entries in any department when housing facilities are exhausted , earliest dated entries will be accepted first . IMPORTANT : Give number of animals entered and number of stalls needed . 5 . All dairy must be in place by 11 pm on Tuesday , July 26 . 6 . Milk Cows ( no dry cows or heifers ) will be released one hour following the Holstein and Brown Swiss show on Thursday , July 28 .
Premium checks may not be available at that time . 7 . All cattle exhibited at the Stephenson County Fair must be accompanied by the Certificate of Health issued and endorsed by a qualified veterinarian . Read State of Illinois Health Regulations in front of this Fair Book . 8 . All milking and milk house rules stated by the Department of Agricultural and the Stephenson County Fair Association must be obeyed or premiums will be forfeited . 9 . The first and second place animals from each class will compete for the Champion and Reserve ribbons . Entries are not needed in those classes . 10 . Dairy animals that have freshened will automatically be placed in a cow class . 11 . Registration papers will be checked by the Superintendents before any class is shown . Paper must be available every day of the fair . 12 . All animals must be registered and recorded on the recognized books of record for the respective breeds . Exhibitors must have registration and / or qualified papers available for officials to check at all times .
13 . The order of judging will follow the listing in the Premium Book : 07 / 27 : Junior Open and Open : Jersey and Ayrshire / Guernsey . 07 / 28 : Junior Open and Open : Holstein and Brown Swiss / Milking Short Horn .
14 . Individual animals can only be shown in one individual class . In order to show in a group class , all animals must be shown in an individual class .
15 . The 100,000 lb . Brown Swiss or 150,000 lb . Holstein cow can be shown in one individual class only , it may by used in group classes .
16 . The point system for each Breed Premier breeder and exhibitor will be calculated on six ( 6 ) animals . Five ( 5 ) places in each class will be used with 10 points for the top cow and 5 points for the top heifer .
17 . GROUP SHOWING : Jr . Best 3 Females-Bred by Exhibitor - under 2 years of age owned by exhibitor . Best 3 Females - Any age , bred by exhibitor , at least one owned by exhibitor . Produce of Dam - 2 animals , any age . Dam & Daughter - Any age . Exhibitors Herd - 2 animals over 2 years old , 2 animals under 2 years old ,
1 any age , of which 3 must be bred by exhibitor . 18 . Championship drive will follow the classes for each breed . The Open Show Champion will show first followed by the Junior Open
Show Champion . Juniors will lead out regardless of Open Champion .
