The Robert Conte Wellness Center
Construction is almost finished on a wellness facility at the new Baylor Scott & White Clinic - Midtown in College Station . Named in honor of a generous gift by the late Dr . Robert Conte and his wife , Cindy , The Robert Conte Wellness Center will focus on health education , nutrition , and physical activity . Physicians from the adjacent clinic will work hand-in-hand with health and wellness coaches to meet each patient ’ s specific needs in the pursuit of a healthy lifestyle . The center will feature several physician-referred educational programs designed to help patients manage chronic disease and make healthy choices .
“ I pray the Wellness Center will inspire others in the Bryan-College Station community living with high blood pressure , diabetes , obesity , or stroke injuries to take charge of their health ,” says Cindy Conte . “ It is possible when you show folks how exercise can be a game changer for so many diseases .
Cancer Center Updates
Our educational initiatives , support groups , and Nurse Navigator program continue to grow thanks to a grant from Pink Alliance . In addition , patients in Brenham have even easier access to hematology and oncology services with physicians from Baylor Scott & White Cancer Center - College Station now offering clinic hours locally .
In 2022 , the Cancer Center conducted
16,039 chemotherapy and medical infusions , and
4,949 radiation treatments .
support systems , including patient navigators like Denise , play a vital role in positive patient outcomes . Denise helped connect Brittany to support groups and resources , and supported Brittany throughout her cancer journey . “ I had a whole village of support around me — my family , friends , and of course Denise ,” Brittany says . “ She was a guiding light every step of the way .”
After a double mastectomy and a grueling chemotherapy treatment , Brittany was declared cancer-free in early 2022 . “ I couldn ’ t have made it without a fighting mentality and strong faith ,” Brittany says . “ I prayed to God every day to heal , and it was hard , but worked in the end .”
