Kenneth D . Gantt is the Deputy Director of the Office of Biomet- ric Identity Management ( OBIM ) within the National Protection and Programs Directorate ( NPPD ) of the Department of Homeland Se- curity ( DHS ).
DD Gantt ' s responsi- bilities include work- ing with OBIM ’ s cus- tomers , stakeholders , and DHS mission part- ners to expand the program ’ s services to ensure a safe , secure , and resilient home- land .
Before joining OBIM ,
Gantt managed the Department of Defense Automated Biomet- ric Identification System ( ABIS ) in support of U . S . military opera- tions .
A retired lieutenant colonel , Gantt commanded a field artillery bat- talion with the Third Infantry Divi- sion during Operation Iraqi Free- dom , and he has held command positions during his career .
