Chief Jardin has served as one of FEMA Urban Search and Rescue ( USAR ) NY-TF1 Task Force Leaders , deploying to significant incidents , including Hurricanes Katrina and Georges , as well as National Lev- el Event standbys , and also served as Incident Support Team Lead- er and Deputy Incident Support Team Leader of the FEMA USAR Red Incident Sup- port Team .
A licensed Fire Protection Engineer , Chief Jardin for- merly worked as a Life Safe- ty Engineer for National Fire Protection Association ( NFPA ) and as a Fire Protec- tion Engineer with Bechtel Power Corporation
