The Arlington Museum of Art and UT Arlington were winners of the $ 10,000 People ’ s Choice Awards on NTX Giving Day . The Museum of Art also received Foundation grants for their recent Legends of Disney Exhibit for $ 149,500 and for the upcoming A Knight ’ s Tale Exhibit and website enhancements for $ 190,940 .
Arlington Water Utilities received a $ 10,000 grant for a Lake Arlington Native Plant and Pollinator Garden which supports the environment by strengthening pollinator initiatives like the Bee City USA designation and will provide opportunities for volunteers and students to learn about and participate in native prairie restoration .
The Foundation ’ s grant of $ 25,000 to Meals on Wheels of Tarrant County will fund 3,572 meals . With the creation of the Supplemental Nutrition Program , food insecurity and social isolation among the disadvantaged senior population is being addressed . The agency has 47 routes in which volunteers deliver meals to clients in Arlington .
The Arlington Life Shelter received The Road Home $ 200,000 grant from the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation to help underwrite shelter services and programming to meet the pressing needs of Arlington Life Shelter clients .
Alliance For Children is the children ’ s advocacy center serving all of Tarrant County with the mission to protect children from child abuse through teamed investigations , healing services , and community education . The Foundations grant of $ 1,250,000 for their Rebuilding Lives Capital Campaign will add essential capacity and updates at their locations . Alliance For Children will be expanding the Arlington center by 24,000 square feet .
