V ’ S APPEARANCES V MADE A SERIES OF APPEARANCES THIS YEAR , SOME VIRTUALLY DUE TO THE ONGOING PANDEMIC :

• Ecofeminist Summit with Candidate Sandrine Rousseau and Jane Fonda .
• We Are The Work conversation with Mahogany L . Browne , Lincoln Center ’ s first ever poet-in-residence .
• Women for the Rivers , a Treaty Rights rally with Winona LaDuke , Indigenous Leaders , and Marisa Tomei at the Shell City Campground in Menahoga , MN to highlight the questionable police tactics and Line 3 arrests that drove more Water Protectors and special guest supporters from the arts and environmental worlds to Minnesota . Participants included Michael Brune , Executive Director .
• Funders Briefing for Alianza Nacional de Campesinas Call and its member organizations . A virtual briefing to hear about the work being carried out in various regions of their county to protect and promote the rights of campesinas during this time of crisis . Campesinas and their allies spoke about how they have continued their work to keep food on the tables of families across the country while they have struggled to survive and stay safe and healthy . Highlights from Alianza ’ s Convivencia ( National Campesina Gathering ) were also presented , including shared experiences and recommendations for how best to protect and promote the health , safety , well-being , dignity , and human rights of campesinas and their families .
• V wrote the script for WICKED in Concert as PBS marked Broadway ’ s return with a musical event celebrating the songs from one of the most iconic hits in Broadway history . This special performance featured reimagined , never-before-heard musical arrangements created just for this broadcast , performed by celebrity artists from the worlds of film , pop music and television .
• The Life of an Activist Writer with V and Kevin Powell , one of the most celebrated political , cultural , literary , and hip-hop voices in America today .
• UNSW Australian Human Rights Institute virtual conversation , The Art of Climate Health , part of Health and Human Rights in the Climate Crisis . This session brought together international and local artists , writers and performers to offer a different lens through which to view and tackle climate change , exploring how art , in its many forms , can potentially change the conversation and offer new solutions to the climate stalemate . Speakers included Ronda Clarke , Andrea Durbach , and Janet Laurence .
• V Keynotes Women and Earth , One Body as part of the Sophia Institute ’ s , Women Rising . The gathering welcomed women from all over the country virtually for a weekend of celebration and exploration with evolutionary leaders and teachers as we reimagine and co-create our lives and our world .
