Carver County Parks

Park mission
The purpose of the Carver County Parks and Recreation Department is to provide a variety of quality recreational experiences , services , and lands that meet the needs of the residents of Carver County and Carver County Regional Park users .
A regional park system
Carver County Parks is one of 10 implementing regional park agencies of the Metropolitan Regional Parks System . In cooperation with Metropolitan Parks and Open Space Commission and Metropolitan Council , Carver County plans , acquires land and develops regional parks and trails . Funding for land acquisition park and trail development , a portion of operations and maintenance is financed by the Metropolitan Council and state legislature . Carver County operates and maintains the parks / trails of Baylor Regional Park , Lake Minnewashta Regional Park , Lake Waconia Regional Park , the Dakota Rail Regional Trail , Southwest Regional Trail , and Minnesota River Bluffs Regional Trail .
Parks vehicle permits are not required .
Shelter and community room rental
Fees are based on the type of shelter / facility , group size , and day of rental .
Campground information
Camping is available at Baylor Regional Park from the second weekend in May through the third weekend in October annually .
Recreational equipment rentals
Equipment ranging from cross country skis and snowshoes to canoes and paddle boats are available for rent at Carver County Regional Parks .

Baylor Regional Park is a 201- acre park situated in western Carver County on Eagle Lake . The park offers 50 camping sites . Thirty-five sites have water and electrical hookups and 15 sites are primitive . Other facilities include : group camping area , picnic areas , showers , swimming beach , beach house , reservable picnic shelters , ball field , sand volleyball court , horseshoe pits , and an 18 hole disc golf course . Park hours are from 6 a . m . to 10 p . m .

Baylor Regional Park is a popular destination offering a variety of recreational opportunities .
Baylor Regional Park Trails and facilities
Visitors can walk the nearly 1 / 4 mile long boardwalk trail through the cattail marsh , or tour almost 4 miles of walking trails through a maple / basswood forest and native prairie . Watch for wildlife or enjoy a scenic vista overlooking Eagle Lake . In the spring , there are syrup demonstrations and sap collection on the Maple Trail .
A Community Room for seating up to 100 people is available May - October in the 1935 remodeled barn with advance reservations . The Community Room has a food preparation area , heat , A / C , and flush restrooms . Summer camping and cookouts are popular park activities . The Eagle Lake Observatory within the park is owned and operated by the Minnesota Astronomical Society for the benefit of students , teachers , the public-at-large , and for members of the society . Its primary mission is education and public outreach .
The 18-hole disc golf course is also a popular destination at the park .
During the winter season , cross-country skis and snowshoes can be rented on weekends at the park office .
There is no boat access to Eagle Lake via Baylor Regional Park . A public boat ramp is located on the southeast end of the lake off Cty Rd 135 .
