• Fondling : The touching of the private parts of another person for the purpose of sexual gratification , without the consent of the victim , including instance where the victim is incapable of giving consent because of his / her age or because of his / her temporary or permanent mental incapacity ( Clery ).
• Incest : Sexual intercourse between persons who are related to each other within the degrees wherein marriage is prohibited by law ( Clery ).
• Rape : The penetration , no matter how slight , of the vagina or anus , with any body part or object , or oral penetration by a sex organ to another person , without the consent of the victim ( Clery ).
• Statutory Rape : non-Forcible sexual intercourse with a person who is under the statutory age of consent ( Clery ).
Simple Assault : An unlawful physical attack by one person upon another where neither the offender displays a weapon , nor the victim suffers obvious severe or aggravated bodily injury involving apparent broken bones , loss of teeth , possible internal injury , severe laceration , or loss of consciousness ( Clery ).
Stalking : Engaging in a course of conduct directed at a specific person that would cause a reasonable person to : fear for the person ’ s safety or the safety of others ; or suffer substantial emotional distress . Including but not limited to willful course of conduct ( a pattern of 2 or more separate acts ) involving repeated or continuing harassment of another individual that would cause a reasonable person to feel terrorized , frightened , intimidated , threatened , harassed , fear for his or her safety or the safety of theirs , suffer substantial emotional distress or molested and that actually caused the victim to feel terrorized , frightened , intimidated , threatened , harassed , fear for this or her safety of the safety of others , or suffer substantial emotional distress ( Clery ).
A willful course of conduct involving repeated or continuing harassment of another individual that would cause a reasonable person to feel terrorized , frightened , intimidated , threatened , harassed , or molested and that actually causes the victim to feel terrorized , frightened , intimidated , threatened , harassed , or molested ( State of Michigan ).
Technological Abuse : An act or pattern of behavior that occurs within domestic violence , sexual assault , dating violence or stalking and is intended to harm , threaten , intimidate , control , stalk , harass , impersonate , exploit , extort , or monitor , except as otherwise permitted by law , another person , that occurs using any form of information technology , including : internet enabled devices , online spaces and platforms , computers , mobile devices , cameras and imaging platforms , apps , location tracking devices , communication technologies , or any other emerging technologies ( VAWA ).
Title IX : Education Amendments Act of 1972 is a federal law that states : no person in the United States shall , on the basis of sex , be excluded from participation in , be denied the benefits of , or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance .
