IEC Academic Membership Categories and Dues

IEC Affiliate Members include representatives from academic institutions with a history of partnership and respect for the talent and capabilities of the MSI community.

IEC HSI Affiliate Members include representatives from academic institutions who are partners in serving minority students and have received an HSI designation from the U.S. Department of Education.

Both Affiliate Members and HSI Affiliate Members are a part of one of the five following categories:

Category 1: $4,000 Annual Membership

∙ $10 million+ research expenditure OR

∙ Top 20 Ranked US News & World Report

Category 2: $2,000 Annual Membership

∙ $4.5 million+ research expenditure OR

∙ $2 million+ research expenditure AND

∙ 20+ tenured track faculty AND

∙ 450+ undergraduate enrollment

Category 3: $1,000 Annual Membership

∙ $500,000+ research expenditure OR

∙ 10+ tenured track faculty OR

∙ 165+ undergraduate enrollment OR

∙ Doctoral Universities

Category 4: $500 Annual Membership

∙ Masters Colleges and Universities not meeting the

above criteria

∙ Baccalaureate and Special Focus 4-year schools

Category 5: $350 Annual Membership

IEC Community College Members are asked to join by invitation only, based on a history of partnership with the IEC Core Member Institutions. This group includes representatives from two-year, postsecondary programs.

Community College Member: IEC Supported Membership

IEC Core Members are asked to join by invitation only and include representatives from historically majority-minority colleges and universities. This group includes Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSIs) that serve a student population of over 70% Hispanic students, and Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs).
