Embracing technology , working remote , and using creative ways to stay top-of-mind with clients and prospects doesn ’ t come at a cost of face-to-face . It ’ s not an either-or situation . Change doesn ’ t mean you have fewer options . I know we will one day have a semblance of what was and that will be great , however , we will also be far more nimble , more accessible , and more tech-forward than we were before and honestly , is that a bad thing ? For me and my community of professionals , we are ready for it . The question is — are you ?
Bill Kauffman : In talking to our producers , we ’ re seeing that some states and areas of the country are opening up and giving producers the opportunity to see their prospects and clients on a face-to-face basis . That includes seminars and workshops . Recently one of our workshop partners reported that they were seeing the return of in-person workshops . However , some producers feel that virtual workshops and virtual appointments are here to stay . There certainly is room and interest for both . If you add the availability of the vaccine across America , it really gives you hope that we can see some semblance of normalcy return this year and continue growing into next year .
From a business standpoint , the pedal is on the metal more than ever . Everyone always enjoys going down a lazy river but only a handful will survive the waterfall .

We can interact with our banks and do mortgages entirely online and even on our mobile phones , yet try to change an address on a life policy in 2019 and the carrier had to mail some forms to sign and mail back .

It ’ s about time
Rob Carney : There ’ s an old adage that says “ Learn to appreciate what you have before time makes you appreciate what you had .” And for me , a strong lesson from the pandemic that we ’ re bringing forward is a deeper appreciation of our teammates and our families , and the strength and security of the company we work for . It ’ s something we have learned not to take for granted . Simultaneously , I am deeply moved by the many good things people in our company and industry are doing to meet the needs of those in our country without the same security and support resources .
