Unexpected gains
Andy Albright : Our company moved up by 25 percent this past year during COVID-19 . But , some of us gained 15 percent weight too … both of those examples make us pause !
We refocused , worked on eating healthier and we did whatever we could to move around more ! Our team made a big decision that we were going to STICK to the basics since they worked so well during the pandemic . We didn ’ t lose sight of the task in front of us , which is helping people . That doesn ’ t change in 2021 . We are going to encourage those who suffered to keep pushing . As long as you keep fighting , you can succeed .
Sheryl Hickerson : Colin Powell once said , “ Perpetual optimism is a force multiplier ” and nothing could have been truer during the pandemic . The beauty of problems are the creative solutions that arise , and we are indebted for the variety of ways we could do our business creatively during and eventually after quarantine .
Silver lining
Kurt Fasen : As I reflect on our business and the impacts since the pandemic , I am very optimistic about the future for many reasons . First , the pandemic has raised public awareness around the need for risk protection . Both clients and advisors are having serious discussions regarding the impact a death could have on a family / business and they ’ re looking for ways to mitigate that risk with life insurance .
I am also pleased with the amount of progress the life insurance industry has made to make this process easier for both clients and advisors through digital platforms . Second , the anticipated changes in estate taxes have prompted many people to start talking with their advisors about ways to minimize taxes , again with life insurance . We are seeing clients take advantage of the low interest rate environment to leverage techniques like

capitalize on the increased consumer awareness for protection products .
