The leader in visionary education , the Clear Creek Independent School District is one of the largest school districts in Texas , serving 42,000 students in its 27 elementary , 10 intermediate and seven high schools . The district spans 103 square miles and 13 municipalities in two counties , including League City , Webster , Kemah , Seabrook , Nassau Bay , Clear Lake Shores , El Lago and Friendswood .
District students perform at a higher level than their state and national peers on the PSAT , SAT and ACT exams . The district is home to nationally recognized visual and performing arts programs , competitive athletics and strong college and career preparatory programs . The district also places great emphasis on the well-rounded student , infusing character education and leadership development programs with academic curriculum .
As the region continues to grow and expand , in May 2017 , the community approved a $ 487 million bond to improve district schools and support

services . The Bond Program is in full gear , with 41 percent of the $ 487 million bond projects under contract and underway as of September 2018 .
For the 16th straight year , the district earned the highest rating possible from the Texas Financial Integrity Rating System .
A member of the Texas High Performance Schools Consortium , the district also is home to the Texas Superintendent of the Year ( 2012 ), the Texas Elementary Teacher of the Year ( 2013 ) and the World Champion Robotics team . The district has been named a “ Top Workplace in Houston ” by the Houston Chronicle for six years .

The Dickinson Independent School District offers families a diverse , fast-growing community with a small-town atmosphere that is within easy access of big-town amenities . Students and staff experience a district rooted in tradition , but at the same time , excelling in 21st century learning opportunities covering academics , athletics , fine arts and much more . The district includes 14 campuses that cover 61 square miles , including the City of Dickinson , the unincorporated communities of Bacliff and San Leon , as well as portions of the cities of League City and Texas City .
Dickinson ISD is known as “ Gator Nation ,” with Big Al as the mascot of all district campuses , which proudly wear the colors of blue and white . New students move into Dickinson ISD each year with enrollment increasing by about 2,500 students over the past 10 years . Demographic reports project the district will grow by about 3,000 students over the next 10 years .
More than $ 400 million has been invested in district facilities over the past 15 years through five voter-approved bond issues . The most recently approved bond referendum in November 2020 will be providing the district ’ s third junior high campus .
Once the junior high opens , the district will realign grade levels to accommodate full-day prekindergarten districtwide to qualifying students . The realignment will include grades Pre-K to third in elementary school , grades 4-5 in middle school , grades 6-8 in junior high and grades 9-12 in high school .
Also included in the bond referendum are additions and renovations to the Transportation Center , the Agricultural Center and the Technology Center ; parking lot replacement and drainage work at Hughes Road Elementary ; security and safety improvements ; and replacement of the running track at McAdams Junior High .
Students in grades 5-9 can apply to attend the district ’ s STEM Academy , which offers innovative science , technology , engineering and math instruction .
