From gesture to jester : Finding the reality of memory

Charbonneau resident showcases art in Newberg

Charbonneau resident Molly Van Austen will showcase her artwork in an upcoming exhibition at the Chehalem Cultural Center in May .
From May 4 through June 19 people can view Molly ’ s work at the center located at 415 E Sheridan St .

This exhibition features the artist ’ s explorations during the COVID-19 pandemic . Molly Van Austen , a drawer / painter took to a 175-foot roll of paper , using graphite and colored pencils to illustrate her thoughts , memories and imaginings . The gestures in colored pencils are brought together in this exhibit as the 175-foot drawing winds its way through the gallery . Molly reflects on “ a long life and a long drawing ,”
