The Inclusive Engineering Foundation (IEF) is dedicated to increasing diversity in engineering by fostering programs that increase the quantity and preparedness of African American, Hispanic and Native American engineering graduates with an additional emphasis on gender diversity.
THE CHALLENGE
Underrepresented Minority Groups are at a significant disadvantage in both Graduate and Undergraduate programs
- 63.3% retention rate of black undergraduates in STEM
- First generation college students are 1.3x more likely to stop
attending college before earning a degree
- 12.7% of faculty members are from underrepresented
minority groups
