Somewhere in the Unknown World : A Collective Refugee Memoir by Kao Kalia Yang Our communities are changing ethnically and every person comes here with their own story . Take time this summer to investigate the many refugee stories that Ms . Yang brings to life in her new book . Then join us this fall for an evening with Ms . Yang as she discusses her desire to capture these stories and preserves each individual ’ s journey . Do you fumble to find the right words for what to say to your child about race ? Do you wonder if you are keeping the conversation developmentally appropriate ? Join the HOPE Speaks Project to learn more about why and how to have this lifelong conversation with your child . HOPE Speaks - So You Want to Be Anti-Racist ?
This six week virtual course is offered to anyone looking to deepen their understanding of what it means to be anti-racist . Participants will be given tools to engage in uncomfortable conversations , develop their racial literacy and begin to unpack how race operates in their everyday lives often without consent and / or acknowledgement , all the while building the muscles to move into action ! ( 4.0 CEUs if an educator ) This class will be held online . Upon registering , you will receive a link to access the class . Simply click the link on the days and time of class and Kristen and Meghan will lead you through the class from the comfort of your own home .
