Early Childhood Family Education ( ECFE )
Why Early Childhood Family Education ?
• ECFE builds on family strengths and supports families in their efforts to raise their infants , toddlers and preschool aged children .
• Classes strengthen family relationship and provide information and resources to parents .
• Families attend classes together to experience learning in a safe environment to prepare for preschool , kindergarten and the future .
• Classes are taught by licensed parent educators , licensed teachers and qualified teaching assistants .
• ECFE strives to build a strong partnership between home and school .

1 . PARENT-CHILD TIME
Parents and their children enjoy time together exploring planned learning activities prepared by a licensed early childhood teacher . They discover new ideas , songs , games and activities that can be repeated at home .
2 . CHILD ACTIVITY TIME
Children join a licensed early childhood teacher and trained teaching assistant in learning activities and practicing social skills while parents are involved in a discussion group .
3 . PARENT DISCUSSION TIME
While children take part in activity time , parents meet in an informal group facilitated by a licensed parent educator . Parents and the parent educator share information , ideas and experiences related to child development and parenting .

BABIES PLAY & LEARN
If you have a new baby , this class is for you ! Join other families doing activities , singing songs , and saying rhymes . A licensed Parent Educator will facilitate discussion topics about your role as a parent of a new baby . Bring your questions ! 10-Fridays , Sept . 24-Dec 17 ( no class Oct . 22 , Nov . 12 , 26 ) 9-10 AM • District Education Center , room 110 • FREE !
TODDLER PLAYDATES
Families are invited to drop in for open gym , games , and time to connect with friends and other families . A licensed parent educator will provide a small child group time and will be available to talk with parents and caregivers . Open to children 36 months and younger ( as of September 1 , 2021 ). 10-Fridays , Sept . 24-Dec . 17 ( no class Oct . 22 , Nov . 12 , 26 ) 10:15-11:15 AM • District Education Center , room 110 and Gym • FREE !
OPEN GYM - age 5 and under
Kids ( age 5 and under ) bring your family to the Early Childhood Open gym at the District Education Center . Get your wiggles out playing in the gym on a Friday night . While the open gym is free to attend , you may want to come early to enjoy pizza . Fridays , Oct . 15 , Nov . 19 , Dec . 3 5-5:30 PM - Pizza in room 103 for a small fee 5:30-7 PM - Open Gym • FREE !
