Timely Warnings Policy :
Timely Warning : communication issuance in response to a specific crime .
The University may utilize multiple communication modes , depending upon the situation to relay clery act crimes so as to enable Siena Heights University community members to take appropriate precautions . Potential methods of communications are ( list is not intended to be all-inclusive ):

• Degree completion center mass text notifications
• Desktop computer alerts

Siena Heights works with local law enforcement to assist with receiving timely information concerning potential threats to the safety of the campus community . Siena Heights University works with host campus security and / or public safety departments to assist with receiving timely information concerning potential threats to the safety of the degree completion centers .
Scope : Narrow focus on Clery Act Crimes
Timely Warning
Why : Timely warnings are triggered by crimes that have already occurred but represent an ongoing threat . Timely warnings are issued for any Clery Act Crime committed on the campus Clery Act geography that is reported to campus security authorities or a local law enforcement agency . Siena Heights University Department of Public Safety is responsible for issuing timely warnings that are determined ( by Public Safety and / or Law Enforcement ) to be considered to represent a serious or continuing threat to students and employees on any of the University campuses .
Where : Applies to crimes that occur on any of the Siena Heights University clery defined on campus . Or in a reasonably contiguous geographic area that could impact the employees and students of Siena Heights University .
When : Siena Heights University Department of Public Safety will issue a warning as soon as there is a confirmed immediate or on-going threat to the health or safety of students and employees occurring on any of the University campuses .
