It covers all topics that are included on the AP exam , including : the brain and nervous system , learning and memory , dreams and states of consciousness , developmental psychology and abnormal behavior . Students will participate in a wide variety of activities including both group and individual work . Summer work is required . Students are expected to take the AP Exam , which is held in May .

Description : This course is designed to provide a broad overview of the field of Psychology . Special attention will be given to helping the student become a better thinker , by learning to take charge of ideas one has about psychology . The goal of this course is to think consciously , deliberately and skillfully about human behavior . Topics such as physiological psychology , perception , learning , cognition , emotions , health psychology , psychological disorders , as well as others , are included . This is a dual enrollment course . College credit will be awarded upon successful completion of this course .

Finally , students will examine the struggle to build democratic nations and Africa ’ s future on the world stage .

Lessons will be used as enrichment learning for future participants at Model UN conferences . The course is not , however , exclusive to Model UN club members . Students can elect a USM college credit .

The course will focus on the roles of organizations , resources , leadership , recruitment , commitment , values , ideology , political culture , gender , and counter-movements . It will also consider successive movements that sought to achieve civil rights for women , the elderly , the LGBTQ community , and the disabled .
