MESSAGE
I would like to thank the NSCS Team for publishing Pratibimba Magazine who has decided to release it even in the COVID-19 pandemic situation . First , I would like to say a few words about the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering . Our department is the pioneer in environmental education in Nepal because we are the first in Nepal to start the four year Bachelor in Science in Environmental Science which was started since August 1996 and the Bachelor in Technology in Environmental Engineering since August 2005 . The department is also running graduate and postgraduate programs in both environmental science and environmental engineering streams .
As a departmental club , the NSCS is carrying out many productive activities such as the celebration of World Water Day ( 23 March ), World Earth Day ( 22 April ) and World Environment Day ( 5 June ), tree plantation , welcome and farewell programs , hiking , quiz , art and sports competitions , webinars on environmental hot topics , helping to nearby schools on the environmental education and awareness , etc . which showed the maturity of the club and its members . Having said that I must congratulate all members of the NSCS for the 19th Anniversary which was celebrated virtually on 24 August 2020 . I would also like to thank all faculties of this department ; past and present , who have given very good guidance from its beginning in 2001 so that this departmental club is grooming perfectly . Although the main objective of this club is to provide more and more extra-curricular activities to all students of the Environmental Science programs of the department , the NSCS has already started working with its alumni . I hope it will expand the scope of NSCS and help NSCS members , alumni , department , and society as well . I assure you that the department will always be with NSCS in its future endeavors .
