Confronting Climate Change ( CC ) Effects through Indigenous Technology Knowledge ( ITK ) in Farming Practices

Overview : My study focused on identifying the knowledge of the perceived level of rural farmers on the effect of climate change on agricultural practices . The study has also attempted to find out the different Indigenous Technology Knowledge ( ITK ) employed by rural farmers as coping measures against the effects of climate change in agriculture . A questionnaire survey , in-depth interview , and observation methods were used as data collection tools with pragmatism as a research paradigm . Having a base of socio-ecological theory , using survey and ethnography as strategies of inquiry with rural farmers of Sahartara VDC of Dolpa District of Karnali Region , I came up with the following findings and conclusion .
Summary of Key Findings : Most of the people in Sahartara have realized that the temperature in the area is gradually increasing for a decade now . The vegetables , fruits , and insects that were found only in the lower belt are now experienced in this area . Rainfall became irregular and unpredictable in comparison to the past ten years . The rainfall period is decreasing whereas the intensity of rainfall is high , which brings huge economic loss by eroding soil
