Nature reflects our nature
my dignity , and even the goal of my life . They are always lost with no home . So there ’ s always a situation in life that the ultimate decision is taken through thinking rather than feeling . For instance , if we see anyone rudely punishing somebody in front of us , we offer our help to the punished one . Our feeling instantly comes along with all the negative emotion towards the punisher . After a while , we think that the victim needs to be taken to the hospital . Our feelings are the reflex action of the situation around us whereas thinking is the voluntary action we take overlooking several situations and their outcomes . Hence , there is always competition and opposition regarding thinking and feeling in everyone ’ s life .

The Great Lakes Mercury Connections
Mercury is a naturally occurring element that is also released into the environment as a result of human activities . Mercury pollution is a local , regional , and global environmental problem that adversely affects human and wildlife health worldwide . As the world ’ s largest freshwater system , the Great Lakes are a unique and extraordinary natural resource providing drinking water , food , recreation , employment , and transportation to more than 35 million people . The Great Lakes comprises of lakes Superior , Huron , Michigan , Ontario , and Erie with total areas of 95,160 Square Miles . Mercury has been released into the air and waterways of the Great Lakes region since the early to mid-1800s from human activities such as fossil fuel combustion , waste incineration , metal smelting , chlorine production , mining , and discharges of mercury in wastewater . The major pollutant of mercury pollution is Methyl Mercury [ CH3Hg ]+. The sources of mercury pollution are Chlor-alkali plants and pulp and paper mills , atmospheric emissions , deposition and methylation , power plants : the largest source , followed by metals production and fossil fuel combustion , volcanoes , and wildfires . Mercury is detected in many animal groups ( e . g ., birds , fish , mammals ), at all levels of the food web in lakes ( e . g ., plankton , fish , loons ), and across many different habitat types ( e . g ., lakes , wetlands , streams , forests ) throughout the region . Mercury pollution occurs by the process of methylation ( by Sulphate reducing bacteria ), bioaccumulation , and biomagnification in the food web .
