false contentment . Not only Greta , a teenage activist ; there are many people from different fields like politics , environment , socialism who have strong opinions in this regard . Trump , the president of a first world country has made a sarcastic comment on Greta through twitter . He has made statements like wealth is medium to achieve environmental stability ; America has very good numbers regarding the environment . But I believe that only wealth and the desire to have the cleanest water , the purest air has nothing to do with environmental stability . Desires will remain only as desires and wealth will remain only as wealth until we have consciousness and will power to achieve environmental wealth . As said by the popular actor Leonardo DiCaprio , “ Global warming is not only the number one environmental challenge we face today but one of the most important issues facing all of humanity ”. Appointed as UN environment messenger by Ban Ki-moon , Leonardo DiCaprio runs a foundation which has been deliberately working for protection and wellbeing of all the inhabitants of the Earth which can be called one of the conscious efforts to save our home .
Every time we make a decision we should ask ourselves how this decision will affect the curves . Measuring our growth in charts of the global ecosystem , emissions of GHGs rather than economic charts can be a way to secure our future . These trees give us an urge to grow more , these rivers give us an urge to make our thoughts flow more , the soil gives us an urge to adapt everything and face everything firmly , the air around us gives us an urge to make us liberal to go anywhere . All these components make up nature ; by conserving it we are conserving our future .
Condition of happiness lies between the link among humans and nature so , let ’ s find a way ! The moment we decide to act it out , make vision with our conscious mind , we can avoid climate and ecological catastrophe ; we can stop the future heist . Making excuses won ’ t work !

Speleothems : Proxy for Climate Records
If you were the great Sherlock Holmes who has been hired for solving a criminal case with no eyewitnesses , what would you do ? Well , if I am not wrong then you ’ ll search for evidence and use your “ Science of Deduction ” to reach the culprit . This collected evidence is called proxies .
Proxies are used in other fields as well like Paleoclimatology which is the study of past climates for which no direct measurements are taken . Various geochemical and biological evidence , also known as climate proxies like tree rings , ice sheets , sediment cores , etc . have been used for the paleoclimatic study and in recent decades a new proxy is being studied which is Speleothems . In 2006 , Gideon Henderson , a British Geochemist , had said “ For paleoclimate , the past two decades have been the age of the ice core . The next two may be the age of Speleothem ”.
Speleothem , derived from Greek words , spleaion : cave and thema : deposit , is a mineral deposit that grows inside a calcareous cave ( made mainly from Calcium Carbonate , CaCO3 ) from dripping ( dripstones ) or flowing ( flowstones ) water . Dripstones that are formed from the roof of caves are called Stalactites whereas the one from the floor is called Stalagmites . Stalagmites have a simple internal structure possessing large scale data , hence they are used to generate the archives of monsoon pattern and its variability .
