Tennis Club

The Charbonneau
Tennis Club’s niche
in local tennis
HALL
Over the past
15 years, the
Charbonneau
Tennis Club has
developed a very
enviable niche in
the local tennis
community
which has received little visibility.
It all started back in 2004 when Alex
McPhail, who was president of the
CCC, approached the tennis club and
indicated that the country club needed
help in dealing with tennis club issues.
One of the issues was that the tennis
club needed an organization to properly
manage the club. Alex provided
us with a mission statement, requirements
for operating the tennis club
and helped us select a board.
As the new board started operating,
it soon became apparent that we had
something special going for us and by
developing a good business plan we
thought we could carve out a niche in
the local tennis community that would
allow us to be the club of choice for
many of the tennis players in the area.
This realization lead us to develop the
following vision which is to create a

niche that allows the CTC to be the
best tennis club of its kind in the area.
A plan was developed and implemented
and the desired niche was created.
