CHOA welcomes new board members
Ken Gregson and
Robin Shultz are new
to the board
By BARRY HENDRIX
At our spring virtual annual meeting,
and subsequent board meeting,
Charbonneau Homeowners Association
(CHOA) selected two new board
members due to two folks leaving the
board: Jan Landis, chair, and Ron Reiter,
who was on the Architecture
Committee. We thank Jan and Ron for
their great support and leadership on
the board.
We are pleased to introduce our new
board members: Ken Gregson and Robin
Shultz.
Ken has been a Charbonneau resident
for over 30 years. He is a retired executive
from the grocery industry where he
served on several boards including Win-
Co Foods. He joined the CHOA Board because
he loves the community and is
happy to serve to help it maintain the
high quality of life here. In his spare
time, he enjoys spending time with his
church, family — kids and grandkids —
and friends. Ken loves Charbonneau’s
outdoor activities including golf, swimming
and walking. His wife, Camille, is
also an avid swimmer and Ken will be
joining the Pool Committee.
Robin has been a CHOA resident for
over 15 years. She is retired from the
state of Oregon, having been a program
manager for DHS Adult and Family Services.
She moved to Charbonneau for its
park-like setting and proximity to her
work before she retired. She has served
on nonprofit boards before and joined the
CHOA Board because she wanted to get
more connected with the neighborhood
and help keep CHOA a place we can all
be proud of. She is an avid walker and
biker and has six children and six grandchildren
to keep her busy in her spare
time. Robin will be joining the Communications
Committee. You probably have
seen some of her posts on the CHOA
website already.
Please welcome Ken and Robin to the
CHOA Board!
Get ready to
ShakeOut

Practicing helps
people prepare for
major disasters
Mark your calendars for Thursday
Oct. 15 at 10:15 a.m., when Charbonneau
will be participating in the Great
Oregon ShakeOut drill! Why is it important
to do a Drop, Cover, and Hold
On drill? The Oregon Office of Emergency
Management reminds us: “To
react quickly you must practice often.”
You may only have seconds to protect
yourself in an earthquake, before
strong shaking knocks you down — or
drops something on you.
Practicing helps you be
ready to respond
