September 2020 THE CHARBONNEAU VILLAGER 15
The Charbonneau Tennis Club’s indoor courts.
Tennis Club
■ From Page 14
we offer pickleball
■ We have an excellent well-maintained
facility with a nice viewing area
■ A good support structure for beginner
to 4.0 level tennis players
■ An excellent friendly atmosphere
and playing conditions
■ Quality events
Every two years we conduct a
member survey where we have our
members rate our performance and
specify improvement opportunities.
All of our performance measures have
shown continual improvement over
the past 15 years. For instance:
■ 71% of our members rate their
satisfaction with the club as exceptional
(up 30% since 2005)
According to the survey, the following
are what members like best about
the club:
■ The people and friendly atmosphere
■ Easy to book a court
■ Good facility which is well-maintained
■ Exceptional value
The following are other results:
■ Our membership growth is up
65% since 2005
■ We currently have 207 members
from all over the greater Portland area
■ They include juniors and seniors
some of which are over 90 years old
■ We recently increased the Charbonneau
community membership
count last year by introducing pickleball
■ We are in an enviable position to
have a waitlist
■ We have a history of financial
stability by always operating within
our budget and increasing our reserve
fund
■ We have very few issues and a
good relationship with the Village
Center vendors
■ When the Stafford Hills Racquet
Club opened in our neighborhood a
few years ago, we lost only a minimal
number of our club members to them
Charbonneau residents can take
out tennis and pickleball memberships
without being placed on the
waitlist.
