16 FISHING GONE FISHING “Fishing is much more than fish. It is the great occasion when we may return to the fine simplicity of our forefathers.” - Herbert Hoover EXEMPTIONS The waters of East Tennessee offer some of the finest fishing in the country. Avid fishermen and the occasional angler will find outstanding fishing opportunities in Great Smoky Mountains National Park, as well as the Little Pigeon River and at Douglas Lake, located just a few miles northeast of Pigeon Forge.
