Educating Staff To Better Educate Patients Through An Effective Discharge Program
During the November 2019 Press Ganey Client Conference , Baylor Scott & White Heart and Vascular Hospital - Dallas ’ Director of Nursing , Robert Williams , MBA , BSN , RN , NEA-BC , CSSBB , and Manager of Service Excellence and Patient Experience , Michelle Sension , MBA , BSN , RN , NE-BC , presented on the effectiveness of the hospital ’ s discharge education process and the resulting impact on multiple HCAHPS domains . Conference attendees were able to learn how the hospital ’ s Patient Education Committee partnered with charge nurses and staff to identify new standards for discharge education by hardwiring new behaviors through recurring audits .
