usic is a really big
element of your
wedding celebration.
Music at your ceremony
and reception can make
the difference to ensure a memorable
wedding for you and your guests.
In a recent survey from Bride and Groom
Magazine, 72% of all brides say they
would have spent more time choosing
their musical entertainment. When
asked, 81% of guests say what they
remember most about a wedding is
the music and entertainment.
CEREMONIES
At a wedding ceremony, music sets the
mood. Whether as a background to a
candle lighting ceremony or during
the processional and recessional,
music surely enhances the event.
There has been a trend in recent years
to use prerecorded music stored on
a phone and played through a blue-
tooth enabled speaker. These have
created some unintentional incidents
at ceremonies such as songs being

played out of order or the phone
ringing during the vows. Speak with
any active wedding professional and
they are certain to suggest against it.
Ask your DJ to play beautiful music for
your ceremony. You can even select
your favorite special song for your
recessional after the ceremony when
you walk down the aisle as newlyweds.

RECEPTIONS
Without question, your DJ is essential
to the overall success of your wedding
reception, whether it's a large or small
wedding. The local DJs on Mackinac are
experienced and properly equipped to
handle these responsibilities.
"You deserve all aspects of your
wedding to be in tune," says Brevin
Cawthorne of DJ BREVIN. Most couples
have a style of music they like and
provide me with a list of 'must have'
song selections, but can also feel
comfortable leaving the majority of
the music selections to the DJ who
knows what string of songs works best.
A DJ's assignment is not only to
facilitate music for dinner and dancing
but also announce the arrival of the
wedding party into the reception,
coordinate timing with the hotel staff
to announce dinner, cake cutting,

basically is the project manager of the
reception.
