Al’s Italian Beef

alsbeef.com
For over 80 years, Al’s Italian Beef has served food as real as its story and still is made the
same at 3420 N. Clark Street as it was back in 1938. Al’s Beef is dry roasted in-house daily,
simmering for over 4 hours in a secret recipe blend of 19 different, 100% pure spices. Then,
it’s sliced so thin you can see through it, and piled high from fork to bread. The au jus, or
“gravy” as Al calls it, gives the beef its unique, craveable flavor. Order your beef dry or have it
the way most of Al’s connoisseurs prefer, wet, or “dipped” right in the gravy. Top it all off with
homemade giardiniera and sweet peppers. Save room for other menu favorites including
Al’s char-grilled Italian sausage, Polish, or Chicago style hot dogs, specialty burgers, chicken
sandwiches, wraps, tamales, or salads and complete your meal with Al’s fresh-cut fries.

When the Swedish owners of a local restaurant on Belmont decided to retire after
60 years, a woman named Ann Sather decided to quit her job and open her own
diner – now known as Ann Sather Restaurant. Her devotion to wholesome, madefrom-scratch
food, low prices and hard work became legendary in Lakeview. In
1981, after searching for a successor, Ann finally sold the restaurant to Tom Tunney,
who is currently the Alderman of the 44th Ward in Chicago. Make sure to try one of
Ann Sather’s famous cinnamon rolls!

the owners of The Bagel are proud to carry on their family heritage in Lakeview
East. The Bagel offers traditional Jewish dishes, fresh bagels, catering packages,
