Welcome to Roost Chicken & Biscuits, home of The Best Damn Chicken in the state.
You could say their story begins in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. That’s where they
started learning their highly-guarded family recipes and the secrets of their traditional,
simple scratch cooking: patience, technique, and a soft touch. It was a few years later
that they became Chicago’s first fried chicken truck, and now their expanded brickand-mortar
location is bringing the best damn chicken and homemade sides in the
city, not to mention a full bar with unique drinks, to more people than ever.

Shiawase means happiness in Japanese which is exactly what co-owners Wany Phuang
and Ohm Onthuam (Amarit & Uaki) aim to spread in the Lakeview East neighborhood. By
providing a healthy and delicious dining experience, they hope to send good fortune to
the community. Shiawase’s menu is unique from the typical sushi eatery. Customers can
choose from a variety of Japanese salads, including Ahi Poke, which features equal‐sized
diced raw tuna and fresh avocado. The sakura roll is among the many signature rolls on
the menu, but non-sushi lovers and vegetarian eaters have plenty of options too, including
robatas, rice bowls, curry dishes, noodle dishes and appetizers.
