CWA invites women to join
event Sept. 14 virtually
In moving forward during this
challenging time of the COVID-19
pandemic, I am reminded of the first
portion of the CWA mission statement:
The CWA is a social, community-based
organization that strives
to create an atmosphere of camaraderie,
entertainment and educational
opportunities for its members. So
how do we do that for our members?
Your CWA Board met with a combination
of an outdoor small gathering
and other board members attending remotely
by Zoom June 1 and had a vigorous
discussion to figure out just how
to do that. We realize that large group
gatherings will not happen soon, however
we feel that CWA can still help
support neighborhood camaraderie
and provide both entertainment, education
and remain safe. We agreed to
meet virtually using Zoom until we can
all be together in person.
Our first event will be in a webinar
format Monday, Sept. 14, with all our
current, recent past members and prospective
members invited to join us.
You will get to meet the current board,
be updated on the plans for the upcoming
year and a music performance is
planned.
Here are the highlights of our discussions
(more to follow):
You may join the Zoom webinar
meeting by internet using your cell
phone, iPad, or computer, or with audio-only
from any telephone. Instructions
on how to participate will be sent
you by email prior to Sept. 14.
If you feel comfortable, you could
enjoy coffee or a meal with your
friends and watch the meeting together.
For members who would like to
meet a few other CWA members, host
a gathering in your home, or join a
group with other members contact Lindy
Anderson or Lynda Huber-Marshall
for arrangements. The board members
will also be hosting small (three to four
people at most) groups in their homes
for the webinars starting in October.
 Membership dues will be reduced
this year to $20. Starting with our October
meeting, we ask that only members
attend our meeting.
Dues can be paid by placing your
check in an envelope addressed to Lindy
Anderson and then putting the
sealed envelope in the CCC Drop Box
just outside the entrance or by mailing
your check directly to Lindy Anderson,
7005 SW Country View Court, West,
Wilsonville, OR 97070.
October’s event will be on the second
Monday as usual. Mark your calendar
for Monday, Oct. 12, which will
include an educational presentation.
We fully understand that one of the
true joys of the CWA events is always
seeing your friends and staying connected;
we hope that a great many
small groups will be joining us for fun
and information while having a safe
and yummy lunch in a home! We also
look forward to next spring and expect
to see all of you at the annual Fashion
Show.
Solo Sisters

Beating the blues of
sheltering in place
For those of you who are
new to Charbonneau, Solo Sisters
is the name of Charbonneau’s
Single Women’s Group.
We are a diverse group of
women who gather once or
twice a month to talk, laugh,
share our experiences, swap
jokes and names of plumbers
and have a great time. We are
just shy of 50 members strong,
from all ages and all walks of
life. Usually, writing this
monthly article is easy and fun
because we are always doing
something. But lately, we have
done nothing, except stay home
and practice social distancing.
So, last week I turned to the
membership and asked them to
