Scrambles are back! While scrambles
are fun and a good way to meet
other Niners golfers, they will be a little
different than in the past. Cathy Loffink
announced there will not be a luncheon
nor a shotgun start. Instead,
once signed up with Scramble Committee
Chairs, Chris will assign foursomes
and tee times which will then be
emailed to players and posted on the
pro shop window. Please mark your
calendars for July 14, Aug. 4 and Sept.
15, and then watch for details to follow
through emails or on the website.
Niners Championship Tournament -
Aug. 11 and 18. All eligible players are
encouraged to play! Pat Tewell and
Carol Zinsli have shared that in order
to qualify, players must have a handicap
and have played in five Niners
events during the 2020 season. Scramble
days do count as events although
scores do not count toward a handicap.
Details will follow in webpage announcements.
Thank you to our committee
chairs for keeping us updated!
Welcome new members!
Thanks to Kathi Gray for inviting
Stacy Naccachian and Barb Wilson to
our group.
Stacy originates from Alabama and
is a fanatical Crimson Tide fan! While
in Alabama, she lived on the 17th green
of Inverness Golf Club. Her oldest son
played professional baseball with the
Arizona Diamondbacks, and he’s currently
a baseball coach for Newberg
High School. Her daughter was a
cheerleader at Arizona State and also
for the Portland Trail Blazers.
Barb Wilson is a native Oregonian,
attended Lincoln High School and she
was on her college swim team. Now
playing tennis and golf, she enjoys
walking and being outdoors. She is
thrilled to have a stepdaughter who
was also a Miss Oregon! Currently
Barb is an image consultant and sells
Parklane Jewelry.
Louise McCallum is now a Canby
resident but lived in Lake Oswego for
many years. As a retired secretary in
the Lake Oswego schools, she now enjoys
time with her son and daughter as
well as her four grandchildren. Her activities
center around her church
group, Bible study and friends. Her interest
in the Niners came about
through members Ann Woolcot and
Sue Wright, and although she started
golfing years ago, she appreciates the
renewed challenge and will enjoy the
practice, getting acquainted with members
and participating in social activities.
Reminder: Please check the website
for updates and clarification on rules
as some are new and some have been
adjusted for coronavirus. In the meantime,
have a great time out there!
