Approximately 40.3 million people * are enslaved worldwide , including labor and sex trafficking — a horrendous reality . Over the past five years , the dōTERRA Healing Hands Foundation has been working ceaselessly with partner organizations to eradicate modern slavery . To fulfill this mission , dōTERRA Healing Hands ® has developed the HOPE model as a comprehensive framework to fight against human trafficking . The HOPE model focuses on prevention , rescue , and aftercare to protect and empower those affected by enslavement .
During the Pursue Pure Love of Humanity session of Convention this year , Emily Wright , Founding Executive of global leadership development , sat down with Deborra-lee Furness , Australian actor and philanthropist , to discuss the importance of protecting vulnerable children in the foster care system from trafficking . Deborra-lee ’ s well known difficulties of adoption with husband Hugh Jackman has led her to become one of the world ’ s most prominent adoption advocates .
